Needing a used radiator. Just a temporary driver

Post by 1923orange » Tue Sep 15, 2020 11:31 pm

Hello all im currently looking for a used radiator. My current one is clogged and causing overheating. I've tried to clean it with not much luck. I know a berg is my best choice, however with paying for college at the moment its out of the budget. No one around me recores and I've got some events if really like to attend in the next few months while I save for a berg. Does anyone have an original that may get me through for a few months at a decent price? Thanks

Try finding a shop that can clean it out. If they pressure check it, tell them not to go over a 1 or 2 LBS. Buying a used replacement could put you in the same place your are now. While maybe not the best way to go, it will keep you on the road for now. If you need to add a water pump, so be it. You would not be the first or last in this situation to use one (WP).
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Keep us in the loop on what you find Thomas. :)
As Mark says, if ya take it to a rad shop, beat and cram that thought into their heads of almost no pressure for their testing.
If it were scaled-up, ya might get some mileage out of a washing/baking soda clean out.
Some of these guys sure don't like a muriatic acid washout. A "gift"; that can keep on "giving".
Not certain how to get rid of every last trace of that.
Since I lost my mind mind, I feel more liberated

Spoke with a very nice and knowledgable gentleman yesterday out in vegas. He thinks he can refurb the radiator and if not he can recore.
