Are these the correct pivots for a 24 roadster top ? These came with this car but they do not seem to fit properly. I also can not figure how they fasten to the vertical pillars.

There are two types of this iron, the long one and the short one like you have. I spent some time trying to figure this one out too. My conclusion after all the mixed info I was seeing, they are hidden so no one would know which one is under the fabric. I have thought that the body top irons would be a good story for the Vintage Ford. You can find bits and pieces but no real story on all them from 1908 to 1927 all in one place.

What you show in your pictures pretty much matches other pictures that I have seen in older forum threads:

There are two lengths of those that I'm aware of. My '25 has the two screw striker plate, and the lower screw goes through the striker plate into the hole in the top iron.

Thanks Larry. These brackets prevent using the screw and nut for the lower one on my striker plate. I think I need the ones like used in 25

Looking at the photos, guess there are 3 different length ones.
