13T - Missing Bolts

I found saw what appeared to be a new oil leak. Went under the T and saw two bolts missing, one at the five o’clock and one at the seven o’clock. They look critical enough that I am guessing I should drive again until they’re replace... but that is an assumption on my part. Ford didn’t see like the kind of person who would engineer in superfluous bolts.
What would they be called so I can order them? Looks like they connect the bottom of the hog heads to the driveshaft.

That’s Ford p/n 3371, Ball Cap bolt, 3/8dia fine thd.x 13/16” length. Critical fastener , 2 needed. Head is drilled with hole, as both bolts must be safety wired together If lost the drive shaft can separate from the engine.
Lang’s sells kit of lower bolts and upper bolts with safety wire, Lang’s p/n 2571MB.

Evidently the bolts are missing because the safety wire was missing, because someone did not know the importance of the safety wire or else did not install correct bolts with the drilled head for the wire.

Jim,
Don’t know the reason but it’s where I am now. I’ve ordered the kit from Lang’s and plan on the T being parked until I get them installed.

Hopefully the two bottom holes have good threads. The threads can be stripped if the pieces aren’t lined up correctly when they are assembled or over tightened. But by all means the wire is necessary to keep the bolts from turning out.

In the mean time and if you want to drive the car, two 3/8 X 1" to 1-1/4" fine thread bolts with lock washers will work fine. I have used them like that in the past and do not recall having any issues.

It's a good idea to have a can or two of extra bolts. The suppliers are doing a pretty good job of supplying new ones lately. The best supplier for the really hard to find bolts is RV Anderson. He has bolts that can't be obtained anywhere.
