After a 400 mile transport on flat bed trailer, no reverse, had to push off trailer. Reverse working the next day after a slight warm up in drive. Any thoughts? Thanks

Do you have a Ruckstell or other auxiliary transmission? If so, you could be in neutral. Normally the Ruckstell is either in low or high range, but if the shifter is rough it could have a neutral. Some people purposely grind an extra notch to make a neutral, but I think it is dangerous to do so, because if it is in neutral, it will disable the transmission brake.
Another potential problem would be the band needs adjustment. If you have to push the pedal almost to the floor before you have reverse, it needs to be tightened. It can be a little tighter than low or brake band, because there is a longer range for movement of the pedal, but you should need to press at least half way down before it binds the band.
Anyway those are the only two things I can think of which could cause your problem. Normally, the reverse either works or it doesn't, but not change after you drive the car a ways,.

I do have a warford, but have been driving around for a time, no problem. Can oil level in sump change because of bouncing during towing & oil level stabilized during warm up on level surface.

On the 400 mile transport was the T in gear or T netual or Warford netual ? If T netual maybe the T clutch was stuck in netual when you frist tried to back up. If it was in gear, both Warford and T hi , maybe the car moved forward a little on the trip and jammed the T transmission.

Could it be the floor board shifted during transport and blocked the reverse pedal from full travel?

Floor boards & seats removed for transport. Going to remove trans cover today and check band conditions. This vehicle is a fresh build with more driving in the last few weeks than before, with no problems. The next day after unloading, let vehicle idle on driveway, then normal reverse and forward operation after that. Go figure!!

This is a symptom of a cracked or broken driven gear sleeve (the brake drum shaft). Sometimes reverse and/or low won’t work and can feel like it’s locking up the engine. Sometimes everything will work just fine, especially when the fracture is fairly “new”. It’s more common to happen on ‘26-‘27’s, but will happen on earlier cars too.
