Brake drum thrust washers Question

I have the the gear shaft and flywheel on crank ready to go , but i cant get the thrust washers to go down on the flywheel hole all the way down i dont want to force them in , Question -can i grind the edge of the 3 washers down some to fit them in ? Thank you for any info--

No thrust washers go in the flywheel hole. Maybe a photo would clarify what you're asking.

The best thing to do is read the Ford Service book! The reason those washers won't fit is because they don't go there!

That's NOT where they go - they go on before the clutch drum !

Wrong location. I use the Ford service manual when I put a T transmission together. Or at least refer to it before I put a T transmission, differential or engine together. I’ve rebuilt a few T components but a refresh of what I’m going to do keeps me from doing the wrong thing. Been there and done that.
