Re: Gas & Grub
Some wonderful photos. Street scenes and service stations. I wonder where and when the "Floyd's Place photos were taken? Although they are sepia toned, I don't think they are that old. The "Credit Cards" sign sort of gives it away. Also, in the one from the "Gal's" backside, it appears a relatively modern vehicle is carefully placed behind the "Credit Cards" sign. Even looking closely at the utility poles, I didn't find anything that absolutely dates the picture to any specific decade, except for the credit cards sign. there may be another car way back on the road, but there isn't enough detail to even know if it is a car? Those two pictures could have been taken last week? Or sixty years ago?
All fun stuff, and an interesting look into the past. No matter how far back into the past.

Re: Gas & Grub
I would have to say that particular set of two photos was taken in Ohio. If you blow up the first of the two Floyd pics you can see Sohio gas and oil signs in the background to the left, and as far as I know Sohio was only sold in Ohio. ''Standard Oil of Ohio'' Also the sign across her fanny says "Ohio State Journal for sale here" Jim

Re: Gas & Grub
Thank you Jim R. That seems to explain part of the when and where. I zoomed in on my laptop, but couldn't pull out enough to read the sign on her behin'.
