I love these old photos, Tom. That is one heavy truck in the second last. The model T has a certain unique stance which sets it apart from all the other brands. One gets to be able to recognise a T among a horde of other makes after a while. I must have been too long in the T game. Something made me zoom in on the two cars outside the Liggetts Drug Store, and sure enough, my suspicions were confirmed. Neither car is a T model. The one on the left is close, but the nose down attitude at the front didn't quite fit my T template. I have no idea what make it is. It doesn't really matter, as the photos themselves are redolent with period details.

The no.8 photo shows the changing times in a city. The horse drawn wagon going down the street. It looks like it was some kind of vendors wagon.

Wonderful set of photos! I want to change my name to Cookenboo. Where does that originate?

I'm surprised Burger hasn't chimed in with some commentary on the overhead wiring.

Allan, The two cars in front of Liggett's Drug store? The front one I do not recognize. The radiator shell is somewhat distinctive, so someone familiar with the marque should know it when they see it. The second one. I zoomed in as close as the detail would allow. It appears to be a Packard, probably a single six, circa '20 to '22.

The radiator shell on the front one reminds me of early Rickenbacker or Wills St Claire. However, it doesn't look quite right for either one.

Wayne, I'm thinking it is an Overland with the angled front springs. Maybe a Blue Bird or Red Bird.

Hey there Rich E, I wondered about Overland also. Most pictures I have seen of the Overlands those years had black radiator shells. I knew a few people that had them years ago, and do seem to recall being told that nickel shells were available as an option from Overland. So that is a possibility.

We had a Blue Bird restored in our local club and a Red Bird in Pocatello. I couldn't find photos but they were cute cars. After looking at some other photos I see the door lines on the car in question are quite different. What looked like the unusual springs must be something else.
Perhaps someone will recognize it.

I like to Google map places and see if I can find the intersections that had originally been photographed. Sometimes it's difficult due to changes, and other times in small towns, virtually NOTHING has changed, except the horse hitching posts are gone. Sometimes even the streetlamps are the same!

The Harold Lloyd movie "Girl Shy" was released on April 20, 1924, so this is in either late April or May of 1924.

The first pic in the 4th group. "Flapper Wives" was released on February 23rd, 1924.

A lot of those are from in Denver.

The very first photo showing the Milby Hotel is Houston, though that specific building hasn't survived. The hotel on the right is still standing.

They are all taken in Houston, Texas.

I stand corrected. Many of those buildings look similar to the older buildings in Denver as do some of the businesses.

I had to do a double take at the roadster on the 4th picture down - I finally magnified it enough to realize it was part of the top bows and the wall behind, and not a picture of ol' Schickelgruber on the side of the top ... a reference that would not have worked back then, but sure stands out today...
