Cotter Pin Drilling Jig.
I wasn't even looking for this or anything like it when I found it, but I wasn't going to let it slip by once I saw it.
It had been listed for a while and had a good number of watchers, I made and offer and I am happy to have it. To be honest the thing looks N.O.S. like it was never used.
It is a very well made and nicely finished piece. Everything is ground and chamfered, it even tells you what number drill to use, and the whole thing is Case Hardened. Even if I did have to pay 10x the original price on the box I still think I got a great deal. I will post a couple of photos of it "set-up" for use right after this post (5 photo limit).

Re: Cotter Pin Drilling Jig.
I am showing it with a tie rod bolt installed (the only thing that I had handy when I took the pictures). With the jig on its side, you install the bolt until it sets flush to the bottom and then tighten the set screw.
Next, turn it back over and drill your hole.
You can see in the following photos that the hole in the tie rid bolt lines up with the guide hole in the jig. I checked this against some other random Model T and A bolts and all the holes lined up perfectly.

My home made one only takes a couple of sizes, but it works OK on them. I was lucky to have a thick enough bit of scrap.

Nice find, but wouldn't that screw mess up the threads on that bolt your drilling for the cotter pin? I mean to secure it you'd have to clamp it down quite a bit wouldn't you?
Me I don't like cotter pins, I prefer vibration proof nuts...not period, but they work far better than cotter pins do...and you don't have to straighten anything (like that blasted pin) to reuse it either.

Re: Cotter Pin Drilling Jig.
Langs sells them. I've used mine a number of times. I'd rather have that original though!

I wish I knew about these before I broke a couple of center drills and regular drills. You can also use the flat of a nut backed against another nut to drill the hole.
