Does anyone have a picture of a Hayes wire wheel puller for the rear? I am wondering what they look like. Thanks Dan

Dan, my son made mine. It consists of an inch thick steel disc with the hubcap thread machined on the outer diameter. To the centre of the disc a large
nut is welded and that nut takes a bolt which pushes on the axle. The nut also serves as the means to screw the puller into the hub.
The coarse thread of the Hayes hub is quite adequate to take the effort applied.

I believe this is a Hayes rear hub puller as it came with other Hayes spares for our 21 inch wires on our 1923 Roadster . Its a rather simple device that a handy person with a lathe could turn up in my opinion. Hope you are keeping well Iam still collecting Ford signs when the opportunity presents. Regards Ian

Dan, add a heavy weld around the hex on Ian's puller, and it would look just like the one we made.

Those are very unusual. I have never found anyone that can say what is the real story on them.
I did find a picture in a 1910 Ford Times that shows one on a Ford race car. It has the city name cut off and the arrow is pointing to the rear of car.
They must be either Pre T or early T. Dan
