In our T family, we have collected a lot of neat stuff, but the one T accessory that I've always really liked is this Bayne Bushnell Auto Power pulley my father and brother picked up at a sale. Have you ever seen one???

I know nothing about it other than it fits up to a T spoke wheel perfectly! I think its missing a retainer or knock off cap for the hub to hold it on. Maybe one of you accessory gurus have one or have seen one. Would be amazing to find the missing piece.

Anyways, its a fun thing we all can enjoy looking at! Plus in my mind, it looks great in the soon to be finished bed of my 1915 cut-down touring! If my brother let's me use it.. ha. I'll post about the bed progress in another post... and BTW, still looking for nice, original rear fenders.

This does a pretty good job of describing the adaptor flange. I've seen a couple of the pulleys but never the adaptor flange.

Hopefully someone will post photos (and dimensions ) of an original adaptor. I have a pulley but no adaptor and, probably like you, would love to have one. I would think the hubcap wouldn't work that well to hold it all together, but a hub puller would work pretty well. It kind of appears that's the case in the advertising image actually.

I'm assuming it wouldn't be great on a differential, but it's a cool piece.

Namdc3, this is great! I bet these things got split up over the years! Yes, would love to have the full pieces, would make a great static display at a show.

It appears the adapter would be easy to fabricate. 2 flanges; one with an inside diameter just large enough to fit over the outer wheel hub where the hub cap threads with and outside diameter smaller than the hole inside the belt adapter. And a second flange with an outside diameter larger than the inside hole of the belt adapter and an inside diameter large enough to allow you to thread the hub cap (or wheel puller) on to the hub. Connect these two flanges with a piece of tube/pipe with a diameter equal to the outside of the hub flange diameter but equal to the diameter of the inside hole of the belt pulley side flange. Weld them together and you should be good to go. When complete, the adapter would look like a top hat with a hole in the flat top of the hat. This hole would go over the wheel hub. You would reach through the brim of the hat to thread on the hub cap or hub puller.

From the patent document, the original builder used just the hub cap to hold it all together. Seems like it would be better to use a heavier, thicker walled puller rather than a thin walled hub cap.

Don’t try to actually use it to power anything. These setups cause the differential to be loaded in a way they were never meant to operate. You may be disappointed in your rear axle longevity...

Update, a hub puller and hub plate from a wooden spoke t wheel will work with a little play and fabrication. Can not wait to use this setup!! Ha.

Good idea, Andrew. Be sure to post some pics. Like I mentioned above, I don't think using it will do a differential any favors, as the spider gears are having to constantly spin, but I do wonder if a light load for a short run would be fine. I'd be interested in anyone's more scientific thoughts on how much is too much.

Just a few more ads. It sounds like it came with its own heavy duty hubcap.

These are aawesome! Thank you for sharing. Will be a little bit until I can get a hub machined, but once I do I will follow up. My true idea is to simply put it on when at a show as part of the 'display' of the car.
