Does anybody know of a source for metal stakes for a Ford 1924 stakebody flatbed? Even ones that have the correct general appearance and could be modified to fit would be acceptable. I can manufacture wood replacements but like the look of the OEM metal stakes.

No such critter, I am told, by guys who came to me thinking I might have some.
They said they are pretty much unobtainium, as 99% of those trucks sold with them
lost them to damage or scrapping.

Were all "Ford Truck" marked flatbeds equipped with the stakes ? Or were they
sold separately from the bed ?

If you can find one good example, there is a guy in Chattanooga, TN. Spangler Metals that does some beautiful metal pressing of all different gauges. Has done me proud for many years.

Just google flatbed truck stake pockets, and see if there is anything there you like.

Anybody here have a truck so equipped ? In my flatbed/metal stakes experience, the rattle
and noise was really annoying. Are the stock TT units any better ?

The stakes used on the 88-A Model AA truck were a carryover from the TT. You may be able to round some up with a want ad on the Model A club (or Fordbarn) website.

Neil Wilson has a very detailed page regarding the AA platform and grain bodies showing the stake details. Copy and paste this link.

Snyder's listed reproduction stakes in his 2010 catalog on page 210. The part number is AA-977; listed at $66 each back then. I don't see them in the online catalog so they may have been discontinued.

Once you get the stakes you then have to round up the latching links that connect all the sections together. The TT that I worked on had 6 panels that made up the set. I don't know if they all came that way. Sorry these are the only two photos I have right now. It would be a while till I could get more.

I found AA stakes on Mac’s but they seem shorter than most of the TT’s I have seen in pictures. Northern Tool also had a similar stake but very short. I’ll keep looking. Thanks for the input.

Here are the drawings of my frame rails, with stake pockets, not factory Ford, but original to my TT.
