A Record

I noticed some front end wobbling in the past week of driving and thought I’d get a jump on it right away. The sooner the better. I had the afternoon off from work and it was up to 75 this afternoon, so a good time to tinker. After jacking up the front axle I found the king pin bushings on the right side were loose and the ball joint under the pan needed a new cupped tuppence.
Replaced and greased the tuppence. Removed the right spindle, tapped and whacked out the old bushings, whacked in the new ones and reamed them to fit the king pin which was fine. Filed the faces of the bushings to slightly over, slid the spindles in place with a brass hammer and got everything back together for a test drive in an hour and 15 minutes. Has to be a record.
