I know, I know, I know: It's a rust plant and the beginning of a great harvest or plague depending on your point of view. Put it out in the yard or field and VERY SHORTLY there will be rust plants of every size and variety as far as the eye can see, waiting for the rust combine to bring in the harvest. One MUST be very careful or the rust plants will multiply until they blot out the sun in your domain. DAMHIK!

Looks like a very early Chevy/Olds block. If so can be worth some $$$$ to the right person.

It's an early Chevy block. One I have shown above is a 1927 that has distributor on side, Rusty one shown has it mounted in front so that one is very early.

Yes, Chevrolet engines earlier than 1926 had their distributor mounted / driven off the end of the generator. My 28 is like the one J&M showed except it has the extra casting for sealing the valve lifters / pushrods. Bill

Now that you know what kind of block that is, advertising on the early Chevrolet club website under the prewar forum might get you some takers. I don’t know if you want to sell it but that’s the place you would get some interest. They don’t make them anymore! If the right guy gets to see it I bet he would drive to pick it up.

Herb, Do you know anybody building a Model T Ford speedster ? If the crankshaft and rods are good, Chevy 4 crankshaft in a T block is a 1920's dirt track racing upgrade.
