One picture is worth...

...several cryptic word salads.

I know the writers think their words are clearly describing what they see in their minds, but sometimes I have to read a post several times to figure out what they're saying, and sometimes even that doesn't help. In many cases a good photo or series of photos would easily clarify the question or comment.

The other day I used this picture when I answered a question in one of the FB Model T groups. I could have written a long account of how I install a head, describing the hardware and the steps in the procedure, and for most people it would not have been as descriptive as this one photo. The old Chinese saying about one picture is true.

That board looks a little thick. It will kill your compression.

I agree.
I learn more from a picture, than I can from 1,000 words.

Thank you!

Here's a challenge for you Steve. Take a series of screen shots to show me how to post photos from my new android phone. Other than that, a word picture from someone might help.

Alan, if you know how to post pictures from your home computer to the forum the process is the same.
You need to be logged on to the forum via your phone
If you are starting a new post then in the upper left corner click on NEW TOPIC
If you are replying to a post clink on POST REPLY
at this point the rest is the same
Type in your words of wisdom in the window pane
tab down to ATTACHMENTS folder tab at the bottom of the screen and click on it
A box should appear under it that say [Add Files] click on it
now read the rest from this link (has pictures) https://www.wikihow.com/Upload-Pictures-from-Android
after uploading the rest is the same as from home computer PREVIEW I always click on any links to make sure they copied correctly and the SUBMIT

I dunno Allan, your new android may be a little more straight forward than they way they do it from the apple phones these days!

You need to get a work bench Steve. Then you won't need to use the car for one. What would happen to your beautiful car if you should drop it or the end of the board slips off?

Hey Steve looks sophisticated. I use the screw some 1/2 metal pipe into the spark plug holes to make good handles, clothes pin lift up the rear 2 head bolts method. Works great. -- IV

Allan,

Steve uses an iPhone I believe. He cannot tell you how to use a droid.

Frank,

I have a droid. Any time I try to attach a picture I get a little yellow triangle and I am advised to delete the file. The error states 'It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image.' I can only add pictures from my laptop or desktop.

iPhone? Moi? Au contraire. I use that most passé of modern devices, a flip phone. I have never taken a picture with it. I shoot photos with a camera, download them to my computer, and post them from there. I am not a fan of touch screens, and I detest touch pads. I also refuse to learn how to text. I have zero interest in that. If you want to reach me by phone you have to be willing to talk. I do still remember how to operate a rotary phone. :D

Frank, I am with you right down to 'ADD FILES'. When I hit that I get absolutely no response. Dead end. Nothing. Zilch. Previously I could go to the file on the phone, select file, upload and continue on. Now all that happens is this deadlock.

Transferring photos from the phone to my laptop only adds another layer of complexity, that I want to avoid. Its bad enough as it is!

I shoot photos with a camera, download them to my computer, and post them from there.

I didn't mention what usually comes between downloading and posting. Editing. Most photos can be improved by cropping, adjusting color, or other editing. I always keep the original photo unchanged and make a copy which I edit and post.

Original from the camera.

Actually I figured that board was a compression adjuster to run lower octane fuel... also protects the rare vintage spark plugs from the damaging effects of living in a combustion chamber.
