Nice colorized photos from 25-25. I noticed that the tops on the Touring and Coupe are sort of a brown color. I know colorizing old photos isn’t an exact science but it does bring out what T’s could have looked like on the line. Maybe the way the light is being shown has something to do with the brown color.
But then again maybe the top material that was used wasn’t a really black color but sort of.

Nice. Is that electric motor to the right of the assembly line the power source for moving the conveyor? I’ll bet that place was loud. Like in the White Star shipyards where the Titanic was built, which was very loud, the Ford foremen and supervisors probably used whistles to get the workers attention and had to yell to be heard. Wow... I could look at those for hours....

We would call this “out of the tube” coloring where I work at the George Eastman Museum. The picture would be considered amateur quality because there is no mixing of color pigments to give a realistic effect. A piece of wood may be “brown” but the hue would change depending on the distance from the camera and how the light falls upon it. Shadows and distances generally require some blue for instance.

I once tried out a colouring site on the internet where you upload a black & white picture via browser and get back a colorized copy.
Obviously there is room for improvement but it is a funny experiment.
Internet adress is shown in the picture then also in the lower right corner of the photo.
No guarantee that the site is safe (but also no suspect that it is not) so I recommend you have an anti virus programme on your computer.

Actually in my country color has never existed, colour on the other hand ...

I think the strange colors had something to do with lighting when the original photo was taken. You will notice the top on the coupe and visor are a strange shade of tan. Same as the top on the tourings. I think they were really black, but the lighting made them look a different color when the picture was colorized. You will also notice in the other picture, the driver and the girl on the running board look like they have gray skin. They were in the shade and when the picture was colorized, it appeared different. The hood cowl and wheel appear red, but were really black. Anyway, it is an interesting experiment.

Very nice looking photos to be sure, but I do not know how much I would actually trust the the colors (or colours) to be accurate, case point:


The red showed up better for black and white T.V. more than the "correct" black that Car 54 should have been. At best I would think that the colors are an educated guess, but very nice and well done. If you go to the Facebook page in the link there is a nice photo of new Fords being delivered to Holzbaugh Ford in Detroit on W. Fort Street, just a couple of blocks West of the Ambassador Bridge (remember, you can look South and see Canada). I drove by that dealership a lot, the building is still there and is an auto parts store.
