bailing wire nut?

I ran across this front axle.
This is kind of scary, I just can think how things could have gone wrong.
bailing wire, talk about a field fix.

Bailing wire is the JB weld of the 1920’s and 30’s

A temporary although questionable fix to get you where you're going. On the other hand, it was probably put on there before you were born and it's still there ;)

The wire is probably all rusted up together tight, so ......... technically it is a rusted on nut.
I also think he, ......... "nailed it" ........ right as a good repair.

Hay seed repair, but at least the cotter pin is in place even if it's a nail! :lol:

Just when you think you have seen it all, then the Model T still surprises.
