Re: Odds and ends
The one with the Podolax sign in it is a Torpedo Roadster, or most likely an open runabout.

Re: Odds and ends
I love the speedster. It almost looks new. Perhaps it was ordered in chassis only form, to have a custom commercial body built. Maybe he financed the fuel tank and bucket seats by flogging off the fender set. A really neat effort.

Re: Odds and ends
Steve T, I don't think that's a starter, I think it's a chain-drive Bosch magneto

Re: Odds and ends
The picture above the one you are discussing appears to have a starter on the front of the car on the far left.

Re: Odds and ends
Steve T - the only reason I picked up on it is I have one of those mag drives, it runs off the end of the cam with a bicycle chain. I can't take a picture of mine because a friend has it at the moment. But it's similar to these I copied online:
The bottom one runs off the crank 1:1. Mine is off the cam @ 1:2.

Re: Odds and ends
Top pic, women stoking the fire and cooking the fish the guys are out somewhere catching. Or hoping to catch! Love it! And in fancy dresses perfect for Sunday Church!
I love the "city pic" next down...all the people gathering around, Lord knows what the "parade" is, and I even bet people are
actually TALKING to each other!! Nothing you would see down Main St. today.
