Has anyone tried the LED headlight as described in Snyder’s catalog # A 13007- LED or from from other suppliers of a different number or style? Don’t see why that would not work I in a T!
Thanks

Tom- Check with Wheat. Last spring he put me on to a bulb/vendor that he used. I tried a set. The amt of light (6v) is much better and amp draw is much better. Almosy like a modern car. Easy to install.. It may be the same that Snyders has but I don't know. he used a light bulb vendor and I forget which one.. Call him..

Another option;

Your head lights will only be as good as your reflectors are. Ether original silver plated or the new ones (not the chrome plated ones).

Kirk, are you running those Logo lites? Looks like they don't require the reflector?

The Pro's & Con's of LED Bulbs have been discussed numerous times. This link covers several LED bulb designs and results
https://mtfca.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php? ... ed#p124082
The base of the Model T "headlight" bulb has lugs that are 180 degrees opposite one another. These lugs match 1156 bulbs manufactured Today which are used as single filament taillight bulbs not dual filament. 1157 bulbs are the dual filament bulbs used for brake/turn/taillights and have lugs one lug higher than the other that are also 180 degrees apart. If one was to use 1157 bulbs in a stock Model T socket the high lug needs to be removed. Another consideration is if you power your lights by magneto vs generator/battery. What should be pointed out is that these bulbs, LED or incandescent, are not really "headlight" bulbs but brake/turn/taillight bulbs; still brighter that the originals and use much less amperage.

I have just purchased them for the Coupe mainly because I removed the generator. I have yet to install the leds. But I have had new reflectors in the buckets with regular bulbs which are much brighter than the Touring.
I have zip tied 2 Harbor Freight "freebie" work lights to the front bumper on the Touring. Which works well and very easy on my wallet.

Tom, I also use the same bulb in my '27 Fordor. I love them. They put out good light. I like to drive at night.

Bill and I found some at Smith and Jones. The one particular model is pretty much sold out. I’ve got my name in for whenever they get stock again.
Thanks for all the responses. I saw some on the last gathering we were involved in. Super nice.

The LED headlight bulbs are the brightest.........

http://www.logolites.com/products/led-headlights/.

They advertise the negative ground bulbs being in stock.... that's what the Model T needs 1919-1927.

Be careful what you order. The Model T headlight sockets are designed for parallel pins (like today's taillight bulbs).

LEDLIGHT.COM offers two almost identical led bulbs - note the difference and choose wisely

I tried both types of bulbs. the wedge shaped bulb produced a C or U pattern and both Your headlight sockets must be the same orientation or You have one C pattern and one U pattern. They are too bright and on coming traffic wont be pleased. I went with the round 6 volt round ledlite.com round bulb about $7.00 plenty bright. socket type Horizontal or vertical filament does not matter. My truck has one Horiz and the other Vert no problem.

Did you try to orient the wedge bulb as described above to change a pattern (see low and high beams)? Also which of the two did you order, one fits the light sockets the other requires a pin to be removed to fit in the socket? There have been many discussions why these LED bulbs and even some replacement bulbs will not produce a proper light pattern. Gotta go with recommendations

I found a video on Model A LED headlight bulb and beam focusing........ helps on the Model T too !!!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5nXfpvrlQW4&t=325s. UPDATE . ..... Received and installed bulbs today and followed focus instructions. Had to stay in the garage due to rain. Focusing procedures easy to follow except when headlight bucket was in prime position every time I tightened it the headlight bucket down the positioning would change so it did take a longer time especially following position of headlight bucket beaming slightly down and getting that quarter bubble position on the level. The next clear night I will take the car out and report back on how aiming and focusing results turned out....

In the video, at the 2:50 mark, Paul tested the bulb using a negative ground. I've always been told that Model A's were a positive ground and that's why vintage car parts companies offer the bulbs in either positive or negative ground.

Bill: Yes Model A's are positive grounded electrical..... We know Model T's are negative grounded. Bulbs are available both ways...... But installation and focus are the same

Bill, for the brief time he did have 6 volts applied to that bulb with the terminals reversed I'm sure it did not harm the bulb.

After nearly 11 days in the mail, I finally received my bulbs. I really like them and will do adjustments soon.
If anyone is interested, ledlights.com out of Arizona, has both positive and negative ground led head light bulbs in a couple of designs. Their online catalog has several 6 volt led bulbs available for different applications. I have ordered positive ground bulbs for the A. Now if the USPS will cooperate, maybe I’ll receive them in 2020. My hopes are high but won’t be surprised if I don’t see them before 2021.

Important item is that they have stock on their bulbs and they haven't really run out of bulbs to send out. On the other hand, there could be delays with any shipper whether it be US post office, UPS, or any other company due to holiday traffic. I hope you do get your bulbs quick ly. If you would just let us know how you installed and focused your headlights.
