Passing of Ken Jones

My cousin, Ken Jones of Aberdeen, WA. and more recently of Andover, MN. passed away Feb 26, 2019 in Aberdeen, WA. Ken was a student of the model T. He spent many hours in Detroit studying model T details. I got my start in the hobby as a kid waxing fenders and polishing brass on his 1915 Touring. I'll miss his passion for the details and insistence on getting every part correct. Services will be March 8, in Aberdeen, WA.

Sorry for your loss. I've known Ken for 30 years. He was always buying early parts from me, and willing to teach me the details you mention.

Ken was a good friend and a fellow T owner. I appreciated his friendship and his wide knowledge of the 1910 Fords. He would attend the monthly breakfasts the local collectors held and update us on Model T items. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Kim -- I never met Ken, but I always hate to hear about losing one of our own. From what is posted above, it sounds as if we lost one of the pillars of our Model T Community. You and your family have my condolences.

Sorry to hear of the passing of Ken.
I met Ken 48 years ago. Esmeralda our 1909 Roadster #4189 . He would always ask about her when we met at swap meets across the country. Yes we are still taking care of her 49 years later.

Sad loss but the positive remembrance/lamenting remarks make me smile.

Kim-
I'm sorry to hear of his passing. My condolences to you and your family.
The one and only time I met him was after Fred Lau's sale. Ken, you, and Larry came over, we went for a drive, and had dinner at Tad's Chicken 'n' Dumplings.
I was impressed with his knowledge. I will always remember that day and the wonderful camaraderie of good Model T guys.
Always remember the good times!

I knew Ken when I lived in Montesano, WA. Ken was the go-to guy for Model T information, and he got me started on restoration of my grandfather's 1926 Coupe. That was a "modern" car to Ken, given his love of the early brass T's. I visited him often during the restoration of his 1912 Commercial Roadster. We went on parts scrounges many times to Seattle and Tacoma. I am sad that he is gone.
