I just got replacement leather hood lacing and they are long enough for my 15 touring. What my dad put in there many years ago was cotton webbing. Any one have a recommendation on where to by 6-7 ft x 1" of cotten webbing.
Thanks
Fitz

I'm guessing "not" is missing from your post, as the photo shows leather strips shorter than material I presume is the cotton webbing your dad put in ?

The leather might be OK if it as least as long as the retainers in the hood. Otherwise, if you have a local canvas products supply, i.e., an outfit that makes tarps, tents, awnings, panniers, etc., most have a variety of webbing strap materials in a number of sizes.

Leather strips harden and shrink over time. Cotton webbing will not, but the ends will fray. Modern synthetics will e easy to seal on the end with heat to stop the fraying, but finding an acceptable colour webbing may be a challenge. You have choices.
