I've acquired a coil box with the switch mounted on the front of the box. This will be wired with ten posts rather than nine, with a separate post for each the magneto and the battery.

For the wires that connect the posts to the switch, and then from the switch to the strip on the bottom of the coil box, is it the black #14 gauge cloth covered wire currently sold by the vendors?

No. Original is 18 gauge solid, not stranded.

I used new wire with plastic insulation, probably because I couldn't find any cloth covered. But it's in a place where nobody will see it.

Thank you, Steve. Is there any reason not to solder the wire to the switch? My only thought would be the limited space you have to work with. I was just surprised to see that the wires in my box were just wrapped around the screw, and not soldered.

All that is needed is to wrap the wires. Now the bolts to the contacts, that would be different. good idea to solder those.

Yes, what Mark said. It's good to solder the contacts to the bolts.Maybe you can sodler them prettier than I did.

It could be a new item, I just saw it a few days ago but Lang’s lists the solid wire. I don’t know if that 1 each is a length of wire long enough to make the 3 separate wires or if you have to buy 3. When I did mine, since it’s not visible, I used some modern solid wire out of some romex house wire.

The wire from Lang is good for the total coilbox wiring.
On there side you can find all you need to rebuild the Ford switch and the coilbox.
I order and used it last month. Also the wood is available again.
