Does anyone know anything about these Pistons. I also have a set of cross section rods that came with them.
You can see in the first & second photo were they were electrically welded the skirts together.

AFAIK, these were very late 1927 and were supplied by Ford- not aftermarket or replacement. The only complete set I know about was owned by Steve Coniff. Perhaps others can supply additional information, but they were supplied with the X cross-section rods with the built in oil scoop on the cap. The pin was not clamped in the rod, but was full floating with a center lock spring clip similar to the Model A design. The clip retained the pin.

Those are the late 27 pistons they call the tin pistons, 7/8 wrist pins in them, most throw them away and use the earlier rods than the X rods.

You can use the rods, mill the wrist pin side down to fit modern pistons, rebush the wrist hole to the modern piston size, if you want to sell the X rods they go for 300. a set. with the built in dippers.
