I see two different replacement battery horn buttons on vendor websites (not talking about the earlier headlight switch version). Why did the button shape change in 1926? Are the housings different?

Housing is the same just the button profile changed.

...unless you have a Canadian made car! From 1915, the horn button was screwed to the top of the steering column tube. When the battery horn was introduced, the same switch housing was used, but the screw tabs were not bent on the flat. Rather, they were left un-bent and the housing was screwed to a round steering wheel nut with two flats on the side. These flats were drilled and threaded to take the same attaching screws. The switch body and top button remained unchanged throughout, from 1915 to 1927.

It appears that an Alien has abducted Allan. He must be a shape shifter because, at times, he appears as AllAn and other times he's Allen. I think the alien was Martian Vowell.

Martynn, the mis-spell was deliberate, as was the second capital A in AllAn. Just my way of protesting the mis-spelling of Allan by responders. Look forward to more variations as I get more. My apologies for missing the double nn in yours in my early posts.
