I recently saw this on tbay, and wondered if anyone has made a cutaway T carburetor, or found an original training aid with the quality cuts like this one?

You should go for it but I believe that if you attempt to make one you'll actually make two.

You should be able to buy it at half price!

I have what I believe is left of a Kingston carburetor that could serve no better purpose than be cut in half, even if it is just for practice. If you are serious and I can find it, then I will send it to you for free.

When I was in Auto Shop class 40+ years ago, one assignment was to cut up a carburetor to be able to demonstrates how it worked. After doing the assignment with a 1960s era carburetor, I did one out of a non-salvageable Holley NH. The teacher and my classmates got kick out of it!

There are so many ports throughout a carburetor, you would need a cutaway of a cutaway of a cutaway in order to get a cross section of each port and where they go. I’ll bet Stan Howe has many carburetor cross sections. Jim Patrick

I have a Model t carb that was cut in half.that came in a pile I bought years ago.You can have it if you pay the freight. Ted 503 728 3476

They are more common than you might think. Pretty much every company had cutaways for their salesmen and repair training.

There are quite a few of those Kingston L carbs still around and in use, the flapper and the cork are usually in bad condition. Some guy somewhere was making flappers out of brass a few years ago. Last one I did went to Ireland for some tractor I'd never heard of.

One I've always wanted to find was a Stromberg OF cutaway showing the circuits. I have photos but no brass-in-the-hand one. I have a couple other ones somewhere in a box.

Once you've done a couple thousand of them the circuits are pretty obvious, sometimes tho, the way the passage was drilled is not so obvious.
