Building Accessory Hugger Style Axle Mounted Fenders

Post by Henry K. Lee » Wed Feb 10, 2021 7:52 pm

I thought I would share some old proven methods in constructing period style hugger fenders. The key in panel building is flexibility, strong joints, proper attachment, and most important...., vibration resistance. These are made from 20 gauge mild steel with only 1/8" by 1" strap steel on the cross mounting, then cold panished for strength.

Sorry.., pictures are not loading right will post later.

Here is the end result, strong enough to hold me with no problems. I weigh 175 pounds.
