My local glass shop cuts them round out of window glass. They do it very cheerfully when I drive there with my T.

When did I do that?

What Rich said. Ford didn't start using fluted lenses until 1921. For 1920 and earlier, plain window glass from your local shop is correct.

My '13 headlamps, which are the same as a '14s, measure 7 and 3/4 inches diameter, maybe just a fuzz under to be sure.
Yours should be the same.

Go to a Stained Glass shop that makes windows etc - they have various thickness of clear (or other if you want) glass etc. I had local shop make a speedometer lens using "lens" glass came out perfectly round and fits snug. Proper thickness is important, don't use window glass
Where are you? Profile says Laveen AZ thought you were East Coast?

I was going to post something about thickness of the glass. 1915 up to when the fluted lens started is thicker then window pane glass, so I would think the gas light would be too. Also something to think about if you are going to use them, they get hot, would window glass even stand up to the temperature they would be exposed to?
I know the voices aren't real but damn they have some good ideas!

Mark you may be wrightbut window glass will reach over 140* in arizona in the summer time. I found 1926 chebby head light glass is 7 3/4" so I used one of hem I had. THe light looks OK after I got the mail box imprint out of it.
