Not much chatter regarding the coming meet ... just a few weeks away and very little mention here ... this is usually a pretty good meet for Model T items ... I will be looking for ball-cap cores and 26/27 roadster door hinges and A.F.+A.M. memorabilia ... will have my babbitt bearing tools , a Chev. cylinder head adapter for Model T and several distributor ignitions and misc. items at SL4- SL6 in south building ...always an optimist ...Gene French

Gene, We will be there on spaces SL 11, 12, 13, & 14 in the south building. I bought a extra space this year for the "speedster project" to sit on .... I have heard that the south building is sold out. So this may be a good year to go. Spaces are outside or inside big buildings. The south building is huge and has very high ceilings. So its almost like being outside.
Hope to see everyone there...

I suspect that in this covid environment, many are afraid it will be cancelled at the last moment, and don't want to get their hopes up! $3.00 gas isn't helping either! Add in recent winter weather for most of the country, and the fact that many are now used to staying home and it all adds up!

Well, I've had both my shots, and by then the two weeks for full effect will have passed, so I intend to go and see if I can get rid of some junk.

I called and had a nice talk with Susy today. She said the swap meet will happen. She was very positive about that. Unless there is a major setback as to covid. I agree with her. There was a rumor of the south building being sold out. She said it is not sold out, but she also said the amount of spaces sold is up quiet a bit from 2019. She also said there are quiet a few new vendors who have never came to or sold at the swap meet before.
We will be there with our stuff and my opinion is that the meet may be at least as good as 2019, and hoping for better.
See y'all there.......

Normally folks list stuff they either want or will bring to Chickasha, nothing so far this year. With me selling the Town Car and the restoration of the 1909 Touring complete and sold I really don’t need much except a few tires. However I have quite a pile of stuff for sale.
Six nice wood wheels with demountable rims. .
Small drum Ruckstell housing (sold)
Early brake rods
Small brakes drums
Spare wheel carrier for 4.50x21 rim
Various Ruckstell used parts
Nice brass headlamp marked Ford
Brass plated tail light Coroncan model 110
Stromberg OF carb that needs restoring.
Speedo cable
Speedo head unit
I’m sure I’ll find more in various boxes following the move and downsizing.
I bring all I can find to my spot NJ5

I’m on my way to Chickasha but was surprised by the amount of snow between Descanso and Jacumba. We had to follow a CHP Officer at 35mph over Interstate 8. This the truck loaded with stuff. The second picture is the mess of the front yard since we dug up most of the driveway prior to our planned improvements.

- Loaded truck

- Messy front yard
Ps
I forgot to bring shoes so had to stop at Wallmart in Tucson

Yeah it does seem like a difficult year to get to the meet. I am planning on going. I have a lot of early T parts, engines, body sheet metal, radiators, sidelights, speedometers, windshield frames, basically 3 early cars worth of stuff. Many other neat items, it is a tough year to try to get to the meet but hopefully the ones that do pick out some good items at our booth.
Safe travels,
Colby Lane

Probably too late but I left a laptop in Little Rock
at a motel - but by the time you read this it
probably will be too late for you to pick it up.
That sound like a good country song ....

If you are asking me .....
For several years I posted live short videos from

as I posted them - starting with the vendor lineup
on Thursday.
I plan on doing the same at Chickasha.

Dean was posting photos from NW Arkansas yesterday. I expect we will see him tomorrow.
I hope to go by T someday, but for now I need to use a bigger vehicle to haul stuff I want to unload.

We’ll be safe, esp. the return trip as Perry brought along the fish net to lay over our prizes on the open trailer. He still has remorse over that lost cowl.

Packing up my loot today and heading out tomorrow morning.
I'm bringing my 15 year old son and his best friend. They're both car crazy and want to see this wonderland of pre-war goodness.

Swap meet selling officially begins Friday morning. But— On Thursday the folks with stuff to sell line up waiting for the gate to open so they can get in and set up. By the time the gate opens late Thursday afternoon a lot of stuff has already been bought and sold during the line-up.

Thursday afternoon was the busiest time. Friday was ok but the report of the South building being sold out was false. The two north buildings were less than half sold out. Many left Friday evening and Saturday was very quiet. I sold nothing on Saturday morning and left about noon.
Not sure it’s worth the effort of driving 1300 miles each way and the cost of six nites in motels.
Sorry to be a damp rag but that’s the way I saw it.
