I’ve seen some differences in the repo brass hubcaps.
Between Snyder’s and Vintique
Notably more threads on the inside, thicker wall of the hubcap, and more defined on the shape where the wrench would snug on to. Is one vendor better than another in their reproduction? I heard at one time Bobs antique auto parts was reproducing these as well?

So which one has the thicker body, deeper threads and more defined stamping?

I cannot answer your question, but ALL the repops are inferior to the original, in many ways. It took me a pile of about 50 originals to find just 3 worth fixing and plating. I need just one more good original worth refinishing.

That thicker repop hubcap has been a lifesaver. On a tour once, we visited a lookout over a mine site. Coming down the steep, narrow access track, one car suffered a fracture of a rear hub flange, effectively allowing the spokes, felloe, rim and tyre to freewheel on the hub. That meant no brakes, just like a broken axle. The driver was able to steer a wild ride to the bottom, the wheel being held together by the thick hubcap not allowing the outside plate and the spokes to depart the hub.
Apart from the busted hub, the owner reported the only other damage was to his underwear.

The new thicker hubcaps I've seen are probably better than what Ford made. However, if you are into originality, be sure you know what you are doing! There is a '13 hubcap on the forum now that appears very nice, but I don't know anything about them.
