If someone had asked me about a T axle this is what I would envision:

- Key
This week when I actually looked a bit closer at my axle I spotted the following:

- Script
I didn't know that was there. At least I know it is a genuine Ford part!

Looks like there may be a crack starting in the lower left end of the keyway.

Yesterday I dismantled the rear end of my '26 coupe in preparation for rebuilding, the car was last licensed in 1943. I found one axle had the Ford script and appeared visually to be in decent shape. The other axle had no ford script and was badly worn at the outer bearing. Both axles are being replaced so this 'egg' is of no lasting significance.
I also found some creative safety wire application on the ring gear bolts, and the Babbitt thrust washers were solidly 'fused' to the steel washers. It's interesting (to me anyway) to find these things, and visualize the people who drove this car and made these repairs. When I purchased the coupe in the late 1960's, the seller told me that as a young man he had worked in the spring making department at Highland Park.

I can beat that! I have several NOS axle keys with the Ford script! Of course I have axles too!
