After 13 months I got my 26TT engine back from Lillikers. With the help of a young friend we are starting to put things back together. When we put the carb on he says "No air filter?" I would like the forum members opinions on air filters.

Model T’s did not come with air filters when they were built. It’s not a factory item. It’s your car and if you want to add one go ahead as some T owners do it for peace of mind. Unless you drive your car on dusty dirt roads you don’t need one. T’s needed them more then then they do now. Opinions will vary without a doubt.
Others will have different ideas about it just as they do about oil, type of transmission bands, and other things.

I would guess that you might have replaced the filter in your modern car and seen all the debris that's gets trapped there.
I don't want that dirt going thru my T engine so I have installed a filter. Most people don't even notice.. YMMV

I bought this set up from Snyder's a few years back and it works perfectly. I drive a lot of dusty back roads with my '19 and for the huge expense of having the engine rebuilt would never consider running any engine without an air filter. With the Stromberg OF carburetor and "Z" head this engine purrs at idle to 45 mph.
Snyders listed lots of styles Model T & Model A

Would guess that this is readily available from other sources like autparts stores
