Model T Business changes

I just noticed that Model T Haven is for sale. Kind of sad in a way but I can understand the owner wanting to move on and maybe do something else.
Another is Chaffins. Both have contributed much to the T hobby.
I’m almost 71 and can remember growing up with some of the earlier vendors that aren’t around any more. One that comes to mind is Marks and others that I can’t recall at the moment. We have Snyder’s, Lang’s and a few others that are family run and that’s a good thing.
It goes to show that time goes on and things change as we grow older.

Hopefully the T hobby will have independent business owners in the future that will be foscued on Model T’s and not become just part of some big group that has several business holdings.

You can only do so much for so long. I am not accepting any more restoration work for 2019, I am already backed up to the wall and past it with carbs from around the world -- from Finland to Australia and New Zealand, several from England and two from South Africa.

I am working today and tomorrow, trying to get a couple in the mail before Chickasha. I think a lot of vendors have no one interested to pass the business on to, which is too bad, but my next significant birthday is going to be 80, any offspring even remotely interested in doing this already have good careers of their own, the last thing they want to do is fix stinky carburetors for a living. I just had a conversation with a guy from Texas about selling the business. You can sell the inventory but it's hard to pass on the knowledge, the years of being an old car nut, going to swap meets and auctions and working on old stuff nobody else is much interested in.

Time marches on. More rapidly than I do these days. It is the reality.

This getting old business is annoying. All that energy wasted on youth. It's the
old farts with knowledge that need more spunk and years to get real business done.

I remember my mother asking my little brother to stay five years old forever. He
said "OK" and immediately let her down the next year. We need a new way of looking
at this problem, I tell ya ....

Memories of an old junker car you nursed along, your kids being small.....old age brings memories back. I think T fans all love the old memories.
