Tulare Tour
Sunday, May 2nd, the morning following the 2021 Bakersfield Swap Meet, there will be a tour through the San Joaquin Valley’s walnut groves around Tulare and Visalia ending with a catered street taco lunch at the Brian Blain Foundation’s horseless carriage race car collection, (cool video attached). Our local tour leader, Vic Groah, has invited us to store our Model Ts/ Horseless Carriages, and their trailers safely on his farm in Tulare for those days we are attending the swap meet.
Yosemite Campout Extension;
Then, later that same Sunday afternoon, many of us will be loading our cars back at Vic's and trailering the 1-1/2 hours north to Oakhurst, CA.
On Monday, May 3rd, we leave our trucks and trailers at the Oakhurst Lodge and drive our Ts and Horseless Carriages 60 miles into Yosemite National Park. We will be detouring to Glacier Point Look-Out and over a dirt logging road (optional) on our way to Curry Village Tent Camp on the valley floor. There we will spend the night in heated cabin-tents, have cocktails next to the river, and dine at the Ahwahnee Hotel which is only a short and beautiful stroll over a bridge and across a weeping meadow.
On Tuesday, May 4th, after breakfast, we will drive back to Oakhurst where many of us will again be staying the night and trailering home the next day.
If you and your Model T or horseless carriage would like to come along, you are most welcome. There is no registration form or tour fee. Just follow the instructions below.
