Can you identify these spring perches Acme spring pat 4-26-10

Post by FATMAN » Mon Mar 29, 2021 4:04 pm

I have had one of these on a shelf for quite some time, today I went out back and in a box I found a match
they look like the same part but one has huge letters and the other small letters
one with big letters says ACME SPG'S PAT 4-26-10
THE OTHER WITH SMALLER LETTERS SAY
ACME SPRING CO PAT 4-26-1-
both also say BOSTON MASS ONE IT LARGE THE OTHER IN SMALL LETTERS, Any idea what they are off of, seem to be N.O.S.
Bob
Also one is rounded on the sides where the other is more flat on the sides

Ford would call that a spurious part.

I'm think that they are the rear perches for these shocks -

Reason for the the match is that the perch bend towards the spring hole for the shackle.

Yes, I sold that setup seems like 100 years ago. I have more photos if you want me to email them, but I didn't photograph the individual parts or part numbers. Not sure they were even on the parts. I will look. If you like, I can try to find the name and address of the gentleman who bought them. A super nice guy, and I'm sure he would be happy to help if he can. Cheers, Bill

Well, it seems like that's what the mystery parts are. IMHO those belong in a display cabinet and not on a car.

Bill, A few more pictures will help document these for future reference.

those things could be useful to cover up a weak or broken rear spring.
Give a t that 70's hot rod rake.
Keep your touring from dragging from a full load of heavy friends.
Many possibilities.
