For some reason the 25 T closed cars parts are not as available as early/late vintage. It would be interesting to understand if they are soooo different from 24 and /or 26. A simple example is the rubber mat. The only availability seems to be carpet!! Hinge pins--through 24 closed cars and then 26-27. I would like to replace the rubber bumpers found on the door jamb of the closed cars. Not available for 25?? I don't know how they are held in place and I don't want to destroy one to find out without being being able to secure new ones. Anyone else run into this problem and if anyone knows how the bumpers ore held in place and knows where to find new ones please advise. Thanks Dick C.

Replaced some of those bumper on the '25 coupe last fall, got them from Lang's 6927BX, the flat top one, measure an old to be sure. The catalog says 26-27 but these fit earlier bodies too. Snyders lists the same door bumpers as for '09-'27! I did have to use a razor blade to trim , and sanded the top for clearance. Made it snug but not too tight. A bit of silicone paste on the surface makes a good lube. Prevents sticking doors.

Thanks Dan, I saw the ones you talked about and thought that they couldn't be that different. Next question, how are they held in place? How did you get the old ones off?

The wood post has metal recess socket that holds the bumper. If your car is missing those recessed brackets, Langs sells repro replacement.

Pry out the old, using a thin tool, screwdriver etc. The bumper just slips into that bracket by squeeze. Can't work loose as the door edge holds it too.

The enclosed cars came from the factory with carpet. The open cars had rubber mats. That is why you don't find rubber mats offered by any of the vendors for the coupe or any of the sedans (Centerdoor, Tudor, and Fordor).

Although Ford sold the enclosed cars with carpet only, they DID offer a rubber mat for the coupe.

The January 1927 Service Bulletin makes known that a rubber floor mat is available for the 1924 and 1924 coupes "Rubber mats are particularly desirable for cars which are used in commercial service." The bulletin goes on to state that all branches have an adequate supply on hand and that they can be ordered under part number T-18120CX at a cost of $1.25.

The rubber mat for the runabout will probably fit in the coupe. It may not fully cover the outer edges of the floor boards in the cowl area, but it might be good enough.
