Here are the pix I still have of the curly shocks that sold through the forum several years ago. I have not been able to locate the fellow that bought them - perhaps he will weigh in and you can request additional pix from him. Bob - I don't remember the rear spring perches being as long as the items you show. I think they were fairly similar to standard Ford perches, but different enough that I had to buy standard perches to finish my rear suspension. Hope this info helps. Cheers, Bill

These are two different coil shocks. The picture on the left shows two are mounted to the same side (long bolts through the perch and spring) while the picture on the right, rear also based on the perch bolt, has a shackle attached to one end. Also it has a spring clip and the number of leaves are different.
The past is a great place and I don't want to erase it or to regret it, but I don't want to be its prisoner either.

There were 8 coils total, 2 at each corner. A man named Jerry Linder (he was a chapter president for the HCCA) restored this car back in the 50s from a good original and toured in it extensively for years throughout California. He even did a couple early Pebble Beach tours. There were many historic tour badges mounted to the dash that I can post later if there is interest. I think the curly shocks must have made the car more comfortable for touring, but I never got a chance to drive it with them. It was a non-runner when it came to me. However, the suspension seemed to take weight very well when I would climb aboard to do repairs. Cheers, Bill
