Has anyone had any luck soldering a loose terminal bolt to the buss bar without removing it form the buss bar to clean it? How have you been repairing them without replacing the assembly.

It can be done, if it is clean. It is already loose though so why not just remove it and prep it right? I have seen many of them, where the pin has pulled through the buss bar anyways, so you have to replace it anyways.

If pin is intact, bend stud/ribbon out to remove washers. Sometimes a squeeze with channel locks will tighten. I use an oxy/acetylene torch super small tip set to a small neutral flame. Concentrates a hot flame to that specific area. Warm & hit with ruby red solder flux to clean & then flow in solder.
As mentioned, if stud has pulled thru ribbon, replace ribbon.

Use lead free solder, makes a stronger joint.
