That's encouraging, no overflow drain, but still good to have these new tanks. jb

Unfortunately, even as scarce as it is, a good original is likely to cost a lot less.
The inevitable often happens.

Lookin at how it’s made... I would say that the fella making the tank is working for his price. The whole tank is simple formed aluminum sheet, and completely TIG welded by hand at all intersections. There doesn’t seem to be any sheet forming to reduce weld joints either. Assuming there are internal baffles and the steering column relief (as original), it would serve as an excellent replacement option. Expensive maybe... but if nothing useable can be found, it’s cheap!

Looks like what you see is what there is in their on line catalog. It is bare bones, but it's there for people to look at.

Good luck if your order one. I have ordered from S&J in the past but the last few times it took much longer than it should, and it's only about a 2 hour drive from my house to their store.

Has anyone checked out boat gas tanks ? I had a 24 Franklin that had a sieve for a gas tank. We took it to an outfit the made gas tanks
for boats and not only made a duplicate tank but took the old gas gauge and put it in the tank in the same location. The Franklin had an
external gauge on the tank. A pain when you wanted to know how much gas you had. This was many years ago and I don't know if such
places now exist. Maybe some of the folks in Maine or Washington State where wooden boats are still made would know.

I've mentioned them many times. Always gets ignored, or so it seems...
I've used them. Excellent work! Just be sure to tell them you do NOT want the outside of the tank coated and you DO want the gas cap and outlet threads masked!

That Aluminum tank doesn't seem to be shaped right. The angle is too steep and too long so, I doubt that it fits correctly either. Which may be why it is made of aluminum (easier to mold it to fit under the dash). Wonder if it has the notch on the rectangular side for your foot brake pedal clearance?
