Inner bearing sleeve

I have a question about my axle inner bearing sleeve; does it matter if the small button on the sleeve, that locks it into place, has been ground off? Otherwise, the sleeve is in great shape as are the other three but it just happens that someone ground off the locking button.

I would think not. It is there to keep it from turning.

Only reason to grind it off would be to use it on the incorrect side to align the grease hole !

The button is to keep it from spinning, so, yes, you need it. And there is no grease cup for the inner bearings.

A spot of weld on the outside could easily fix it. You don’t need much

Run it you'll be OK these have a spring to them and inner sleeves are well lined
Little tack weld would be ok but over kill in my opinion
Outer sleeve I just get one with dimple lot more stress and pressure on it
