Any video of installing new upholstery?

Post by Sarikatime » Fri Apr 16, 2021 9:34 am

There are several videos of installing new upholstery on u tube but none show what I need to see. They only show how to put the material onto the springs of the bottom cushion. How do you secure the backrest to the body? Is the upholstery secured to the backrest or only to the body? What keeps the backrest springs from moving around after you finished the installation. Does the side and door panels get the 1/2” strip around the edge of a 21 touring tacked on or that only goes around the top back of the seat? Yes, stupid questions but I don’t know. A little guidance please. Frank

Doesn't address a 1921 Touring specifically, but these may be somewhat helpful:

Regarding keeping the backrest spring pack in position, it is suspended by straps that are tacked either to the wood support slats (for cars that have them), or from the upper tack rail (for cars where the spring pack sits directly on the metal seat back).
