Frame Mystery
I have a frame that appears to be a '25 ( only 2 rivets on on hand brake pawl ) It has a serial number C726397, does the C indicate Canadian? Also the front crossmember is located on top of the side rail instead of above, and the side rail is stepped to allow for this. Can anybody shed some light on this ?

Thanks for the info guys ! I had never seen the front of the frame stepped for the crossmember before , and some holes in the frame are different.

That frame might have been worked on over the years, as the '26-'27 fender bracket that is riveted to the front of the crossmember seems missing. Untold years, untold stories on your frame
Typical Improved Car front crossmember with fender bracket. The 'step' on the top frame rail is for relief went fitting the fender bracket. Extra side holes are for the fender brace that fits to the bracket and for accessory factory front bumper bracket too.
Rivets are later attempt, factory are neater.

Darrel, Canadian production allowed for both LHD and RHD, so the later frames have holes for the brake quadrant, steering bracket starter switch, muffler and battery carrier in both frame rails.

Thanks, yes I am starting to think it may have had some changes to suit some ones needs. Frame is super nice condition with only mild surface rust. It may end up under one of my cars.
