LED Bulb replacement for acetylene headlights

I would like to convert my acetylene headlights on my Model T to LED headlights. I found some nice halogen bulbs that mount directly onto your burner base at Langs. https://www.modeltford.com/item/BL-H.aspx Unfortunately, I don't have enough power to drive the halogen lights so I am looking for the equivalent option that uses LED bulbs. Several people have commented about LED replacement bulbs for gas headlights, but I can not find them. Does anyone know where I can buy some???

I’m using these from Snyder’s on my Mack.

PN: T-6602-LED
Snyder’s T-6602-LED
Snyder’s T-6602-LED

They are pretty decent, but 12v not 6.

For what it’s worth -

Had one of these laying around and never used it on the T,

but thought I’d try to fire up one of these led conversion bulbs. 6v would not pass the start test, but these have no problem lighting them up.

Don’t know how much each lamp draws, but 3a might handle 2 if you must stay with a 6v system.

Seems like such a shame to do the conversion, but I guess I understand wanting brighter lights. :(

How many lumens does a period model T acetylene headlight put out.

I contacted Snyders today and they have T-6602-LED in stock....so I ordered some. I will be running a 12 volt system so these should work well. When I get the new LED lights I will run some tests and report my results.

Jim-
It depends on what size of burners you are using. They are rated in cubic feet of gas burned per hour.
Standard burners used on the Model T were .75

1 candlepower = 12.57 lumens

.50 burners put out 18 candlepower x 12.57 = 226 lumens
.75 burners put out 29 candlepower x 12.57 = 365 lumens
1.0 burners put out 45.6 candlepower x 12.57 = 572 lumens

How many lumens do those LED "burners" put out?

Just remember, if you electrify you acetylene lamps, you will looks a couple of points on the "cool factor".
