I have decided to equip my 1914 with a full set of LED lights (headlights, tail lights, turn signals). Since I will only be charging from the car's magneto I plan to use a small 12v car battery to make sure I can get home in the dark. I was just wondering where most people mount their batteries? I see posts with the batteries under the back seat, some mounted on the running board and some mounted under the floorboards. At this time I am planning to put it under the rear seat because it would be fully hidden and add weight over the back wheels for braking, but it is always nice to hear other opinions before I actually do it. Thank you for your input....

The battery in my 1915 is strapped in the left frame rail. Also magneto charged.

Full size car battery under the seat? Leds dont draw much. I would consider a sealed battery. All sorts of shapes &sizes are available. Possibly between the gas tank & body. Driver side. I Just put a larger amp (than i could get in a sealed battery) wet cycle battery in this spot on a 15. Magneto keeps it charged for lighting. Stock light bulbs.
My 14 came without the carbide generator. I put on a period running board battery box on thru the same holes. Obviously not as left the factory, but, period correct.

I have a Seadoo battery located by the end of the gas tank on my 13 touring. I charge from the magneto as I run a Trufire ignition

This what I did on my beater 14. Way less wiring.

You want to place it where it won't rattle. I keep mine under the rear seat in my touring, and in back of the gas tank in the storage area on my '13 runabout.

When i bought our 14 it had a short v w 6 volt under the rear seat. There was a hole in the seat riser and a small frame to hold the battery. Looking at [The Pattern Car] it had the same hole in the same spot? I now use a garden tractor 12 volt and i drilled a hole in the floor pan and used rubber hose to safe guard the wire. A battery by a gas tank, what could go wrong??? Bud.

Use a sealed lead acid battery such as what is used in Fisher-Price Power Wheels kiddie cars, alarm systems, rechargeable yard tools, etc.

Place it under the passenger side of the front seat, between the gas tank and the body panel.

I used a full-sized battery for mine. I mounted it in an aftermarket running board-mounted battery box from back in the day. Those were often used on TT's, since most of those came without electrical equipment. They turn up from time to time at swap meets and on ebay.
