ANCO Timer installation question

So I'm installing an ANCO Timer and I want to make sure I'm doing this correctly. I have already installed a modern cam shaft seal and centered the cam shaft cover with a centering tool. So the first thing I did was slip the "roller" on the shaft. Then I placed the pin in the shaft. My question is the washer seems to have a space for the head of the pin but won't slip easily over the pin. Do I tighten the nut forcing the washer on? How tight should the nut be?
Here is the washer
Here it is lined up with the head of the pin.
With the nut finger tight. You can see if I put a wrench on it it would force it on.

Tighten her down - I use Blue Loktite.

Thanks Steve. I'll put some blue lock-tight on it as well.

How tight, snug and you should not need any lock-tite of any kind.

I know Lock-tight wasn't around in 1926 and they probable just made it snug. In this case I wouldn't want the nut to come off. Will it? Not sure but why take the chance. You can still take it off using the blue lock-tight and it will hold better.

I am converting to using location on this nut. I have never used it and never had it come loose, but I will use it from now on. I would rather be safe.

Robert, make sure your flapper moves freely. I put a new Anco on my ‘26 and had to file the slot in the pin retainer where the flapper rotates for clearance.

I pushed down on the flapper and it seem to spring up and down ok.
