So is this where the fuze goes? Yellow wire that comes from the battery side of the starter switch. Also can I go to my local hardware store and get rubber washers for each contact of the starter switch? Looks like there are two rubber washers for each stud.

Fuze? unless you are going to blow up your T, I would use a fuse.

John Regan recommends the fuse goes close to the starter switch. Mine is inside the hood, closer to the terminal block like Hank states. I like the easier access there, and it keeps it out of any water or other debris under the car. Your choice.

Robert, that could be true but only one way in spelling the word to mean "a circuit breaker"

Was Andrew Jackson a politician? Politicians are renowned for twisting language to suit themselves. We have different spellings to indicate different meanings. Sure, context can lead to the correct interpretation, but what is wrong with getting the spelling correct in the first instance?

I install My fuse at the firewall terminal block. like Henry K and Dhort did. another advantage is being able to easily disconnect electrical power to the car when You are working on the electrical system without doing the LIMBO Rock. " How low can U go"
If You want to fully fuse all the circuits on a model T. this is one way to do it. Not needed .but then looking at modern cars with fifty ? fuses. maybe they were on to something. They take no chances and fuse every electrical circuit in the car.

Why not just put in a kill switch and it will save you completely and it is a good anti theft device as well. Just a thought. Frank

Both Jim & Franks suggestion are a good idea. I've also always said the fuse needs to be right at the starter switch, that way you have max protection. Its easier to install of course than a separate shut-off may be, since I'm basically lazy if I had to it'd be an inline fuse. Luckily my cars already came with them!

I do take the Neg wire off the battery of all my old cars when I'm not with them. Even at car shows. I like the idea of putting it close to the starter switch as possible. I'm still young enough to get under the car if there is a problem. I'm replacing all the wiring in the car and making everything "Bright and tight" as someone said in the forum.

Why do you think a fuse will help?
Let’s say the motor is running and the fuse is located in the battery feed. Does mater if by the switch or hidden behind the firewall. Now you get a shirt to ground and the fuse blows. If the motor is running, the generator will still put out current and the car will continue to run
So I repeat why a fuse it does nothing when the motor is running.
When the motor is not running, a cut off switch is much better protection.
If you really want fuse protection, one should be placed in each line like a modern vehicle.
Add a cut off switch.

Add the fuse, better safety.

Once was driving down the road and smoke rolled out from under the dash!

Pulled over, shut down the T, and investigated.

Fat yellow wire at ammeter was frying!

A blown fuse would have stopped that smoke quicker than I did.

All my storage battery T’s have fuse in the Yellow batt wire going to the firewall terminal block.
