Interesting Stevens tool

Stevens tool number T-256 is a Stevens valve stem wedge. Lengthens the valve stem without distortion!

Kim, does it come with instructions? I can't get my head around how it works. It looks more like a jig to push the head off a two piece valve. That wold of course 'lengthen' the stem.

They are necking down the valve stem diameter and that lengthens the stem. See expanded and rotated view:
