This screwdriver sold recently on eBay. I believe the photos might be a good reference for anyone searching for an original Model T tool kit screwdriver.

I have two of 'em, don't plan on letting them go. Just curious, I've seen the price all over the place.

A low price indicates somebody doesn't know what it is and how scarce it is.
A high price indicates somebody does.
Wood doesn't survive as well as iron or steel.

I had one like that here on the farm I used growing up. I used it for prying, a chisel because it had a hard surface on the handle end that would hold up to a hammer and maybe a screwdriver. I think it’s in a box of old tools but it’s pretty used up. Live and learn I guess!
That was before I started getting interested in T tools around 30 years ago.

Lots of T tools wound up like ours did. Used up on a farm.

Y’all be careful out there! For every 100 “Model T Screwdrivers” that show up on T-bay, we’re lucky if 1 is the real deal!

Pay attention to the drawing shown. SQUARE shaft, sort of stubby, ferrule not crimped but single riveted, fluted handle never as deep as shown.

Yeah, they show up in “old tool” sales from time to time, usually in the any old screwdriver for 10 bucks pile...Savvy guys know what they are from a mile away and usually already have one or two in their personal kits. When spotted, they will rush to buy it for 5 or 10 and the next day it’s on E-bay for 125 or 150 and will sell at those prices.

Unfortunately, a lot of 5 buck old screwdrivers get labeled ‘Model T’ and listed for 50/60/even 75! There are willing buyers of these round shaft, 11” long “wannabes” who wind up with a 5 buck old screwdriver.
