I confirmed with Susie that next years event (2020) will be the last year of the Antique Auto Swap meet at Chickasha. ☹️

That is correct. "30 years and done" is how she phrased it. Going out with a bang. Someone is a position to continue the meet in a different location about 300 miles from the current one, and he is capable of so doing, and is inclined to do it, but I can't give any more definite information than that. He would have 2 years to get it organized.

All the folks who have wanted to come for years and never could for one reason or another, you have one more chance. The idea that somebody else may stage the meet here in the same region is intriguing, but I'm not counting on it.

during/after the Bi-Centennial Model T event in Richmond Indiana, there was much talk and interest in setting up an annual swap meet to be located THERE. Great place and much better location than Chickasha. I can`t remember why that idea died--maybe insurance?----anyway---now would be a good time to reactivate that location and succeed Chickasha after 30 years! What do you think? Paul

Larry, I know you can't say where, but is it closer to Minnesota or farther away?

I'm not so sure about Richmond being a better location. Along with Hershey and Luray that would be a third meet in the East with significant prewar interest, and California has Bakersfield, but the loss of Chickasha will leave the middle of the country pretty much of a prewar desert. Of course, if the choice is between 1 Richmond but nothing in the middle or 2 nothing in the middle and nothing in Richmond, I'll take the former. Would the Wayne County fairgrounds be suitable? Is there enough space around the Museum?

Dean, it would be a few hours closer.

I have gone to the swap meet in Richmound every year starting in 2015. Last year because of the Nat'l tour in Richmond the date was moved to follow the tour. I looks like it will be back to the first weekend of June for this year. The same weekend the Denver MTFCA chapter is having a Model T only swap meet to following with the first one last year. I have not yet made my decision which one I'll be going too.
