Does anyone have a document or link that details all the options that were available when ordering a Model T from the factory in 1927 as well as any options that may have been available to be installed by the dealer?

Could have been more, but for 1927 going by "The Car That Changed the World", dealer installed would/could have been: combination brake/tail light and switch, inside rear view mirror, dash light, natural or painted wood wheels, glass windshield wings, bumpers, vacuum windshield wiper, top cover, wire wheels, shock absorbers, Gypsy curtains.

Ruckstell two speed axle was an approved accessory also.

Shock absorbers/snubbers, The gypsy curtains and top boot were tan canvas on the sport touring and sport roadsters.

There were factory options and dealer additions. The dealers could add whatever the customer wanted or could be persuaded to have fitted. As it is today, dealer margins are often greater on the accessories they offer.

In Australia, the various state distributors/body builders had their own suite of additions. Duncan and Fraser in Adelaide offered a Corbin speedometer, their own nickel plated kick plates with the winged Ford script, Wilcox Richards road easer shock absorbers, nickel radiator shells etc.

Could you order "factory options"? I doubt it, unless it was a fleet order.

Ford options for 26-27 are shown and listed in the Ford Service Bulletins.

Also Nickle plated radiator shell.

1926 was the last model year you could order or buy a Ford with NO OPTIONS. The T came with wood wheels, 30 x 3 1/2 and 30x 3 tires, black radiator shell, no starter or generator. I once saw an low milage original one and it was an unusal Model T.

Not quite Darrel. Since it was introduced in 1919, the starter/generator option was available. Many of the TTs were sold without this option.

RDR posted these options and accessories a several years back

I have a December 28, 1925 invoice for a 1926 runabout. On delivery, the buyer also bought a pickup box ($35) and a Ruckstell ($70). NO other options are listed but the car did have a starter and 30x3 1/2 wood wheels.

The Fordex for 1926 shows every genuine Ford accessory made for that year. along with the prices.

Not having the later T’s but having the earlier black era T’s I was looking at the MFTCA encyclopedia about the options during the T’s last years and came across some interesting information from the Ford archives.
It seems that with the so called improvements came some issues also. Quality control, loads of complaints from dealers about poor workmanship, new radiator design issues, having to use accessory water pumps for cooling issues and etc. I have one of those 3 row flat tube radiators I bought years ago and it didn’t cool like it should have. I learned then to not buy used radiators that just looked good!
Evidently even Ford having all the accessories for the improved car didn’t help Fords bottom line either. The rest is history.

Overseas owners had more options from FoMoCo. My booklet is missing the cover, but I believe someone said it’s Canadian and foreign export. I’ll, stand corrected if someone remembers. A lot of neat stuff,all ford factory authorized. I’ll get better pics and add here later.

Pay particular interest to all the things listed but not shown. Sure wish someone would archive this stuff when shown here. Like Bruce took time to.

How many of these items do you have that you could post pictures of to prove if they were really available or "fantasy" items?

It would be nice to see how many were actually available. Several of those listed are (somewhat) common but others are not.

We have a 1926 touring that was made in Aug of 25. I bought it in CA in early 60's with several options. Vacuum Wiper, rear view mirror, bumpers, break light and an unique "Start-o-matic". I have posted years ago asking for any directions that anyone may have for this unit with no luck.
This box attaches to the top of the starter terminal and the positive cable attached to the box. It seems to be a solenoid that will replace the starter switch. I don't know how it is activated but I would like to use it if possible, unless it is problematic. Does anyone have any information about this accessory? I appreciate any info anyone has for this unit.

Nick. This unit that you describe may be similar to the Startix unit that was on a 1932 Essex that I had. It would engage the starter as soon as the key was turned on, disengage it when it sensed generator output and re-engage if the car stalled. Here is some info

You can probably find more on line as the Startix was used on many medium to high price cars of the 20's and early 30's.
