Desdemona, Texas was also called "Hogtown". Looking at the picture above, Hogtown may have been a reference to the streets. Many streets in the area were paved with Thurbur Brick in the 1920s. Search: "Thurbur, Texas" and "Indian Joe Brown". Also: "Bankhead Highway".

The picture labeled "Main Street, Larned Kansas" is actually Broadway, (Main is one block west) taken from the intersection of 4th and Broadway, looking north. Looks like the buildings are all still there.

As usual, some very interesting photos here some with some real food for thought. In the picture below it looks like the car on the right was a brass car with a later radiator shell fitted OVER the original brass radiator & the later hood added to update the look. Am I seeing this right?
