I saw in your blog that you've been straightening warped exhaust manifolds. Would you mind explaining your method in doing so and explaining how warped is too much? You also mentioned that others were "disqualified by other defects". What were those defects? I have a pile of manifolds that look pretty good but could use a good once over and some may be fixable. Just hate to scrap something that could be used again.

I started with a dozen manifolds that had good threads. One has a small hole through the side. I may see if I can find a bit of cast iron rod and plug that, because the thing looks pretty good otherwise. Another was disqualified because the #4 port is burned or rusted out. That leaves ten which I tried to straighten. Four cracked. I believe they were just too far gone to begin with. I think ¼" or more out of alignment is just too much. At ¹⁄₈" or less there's a pretty good chance of getting a manifold straight without wrecking it. I ended up with six that are usable. Two are 25-26 style, one is mid-teens, and the others are in between.
